New Forest Livery - The Yard

New Forest Livery - The Yard

Karen Smith : -

Karen bought Newlands Farm in 1995. The yard had no facilites but 3 old derelict buildings, with very poor fencing.

Her aim was to create a special place where clients could enjoy this amazing location just as she did. From being able to ride from the fields and the yard straight onto the open New Forest without roads was very important to her. She also wanted to offer a special place for clients to relax and enjoy their time with their horses but also have the benefit of having the back up of a happy professional support team, if and when needed.

Nick Smith : -

Nick, Karen's husband is Mr Build, Fix & Mend. He does all our land care at the farm, makes our hay and ensures we keep well stocked with supplies. He is a builder by trade and has built the farm as it is today, including our fabulous Mane Room. He also built and maintains the manege for us too. He particularly enjoys the land care, but we think this is because he gets some peace and quiet when in his tractor away from all the ladies!!

Anna Skeates : -

A long standing member of staff member who has been with us for 5 years. Her interests include playing polo and driving tractors as well as horses! The yard very much values her cheery nature, and great can-do attitude.

Seb Park : -

Seb joined us in 2016. He is a key member of staff and our main man on the yard. With his fabulous, cheerful attitude, he and Anna make a great team, although they're often competitive over their tractor driving skills!

Jazz Ashley : -

Jazz has joined us recently and will be with us until she goes off to Hartbury to further her enquine career in October 2018. She is a recent member of the happy gang and loves her work with horses.. She competes regularly with her own horse.

Helen Cousins : -

What can we say apart from WHAT WOULD WE DO WITH OUT HER! Helen is fab with the horses and at supporting our work experience students when they work with her. Helen started working for Karen in 1992, before she bought the farm. She is a key staff member performing duties such as carrying out field check visits, helping on busy farrier and vet days, doing yards and provides cover for most of the staff days off and holidays.
